AviSense Selected under REINFORCING with the TRUST-AI Project
AviSense has been selected under the REINFORCING programme through TRUST-AI – Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for Mobility Systems, a project focused on embedding ethical, transparent and responsible AI practices into mobility technologies and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
The selected project, TRUST-AI – Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for Mobility Systems, is led by AviSense in collaboration with InterMediaKT, combining technical expertise in AI-based mobility systems with strong experience in citizen engagement, digital inclusion and participatory innovation.
TRUST-AI addresses a critical challenge for the future of intelligent mobility: how to ensure that AI systems used in vehicles, driver assistance technologies and mobility decision-support tools are not only technically accurate, but also transparent, inclusive, explainable and aligned with societal values.
As Artificial Intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in mobility systems, important questions arise around algorithmic bias, data representativeness, transparency, accountability, privacy and human oversight. These issues are especially important in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and safety-critical mobility applications, where AI-based decisions may influence how vehicles, users and operators perceive and respond to road situations.
Through TRUST-AI, AviSense and InterMediaKT aim to bridge the gap between high-level ethical AI principles and practical technical deployment. The project will contribute to the development of a Responsible Design Toolkit and an Open and Responsible Research and Innovation Strategy Framework for AI-enhanced mobility systems.
A central part of the project is citizen and stakeholder engagement. TRUST-AI will involve citizens, local stakeholders, SMEs and public-sector actors in structured dialogue around trust, transparency, fairness and explainability in AI-based mobility. This participatory approach will help ensure that future mobility technologies reflect real societal concerns, user expectations and human values.
