AviSense Participates in Patras IQ 2026, Presenting Its AI and Mixed Reality Spin-Off Journey
AviSense participated in Patras IQ 2026, presenting its work as a University of Patras spin-off developing Artificial Intelligence and Mixed Reality solutions for urban safety, smart cities and real-time situational awareness.
Patras IQ is one of the key innovation and technology transfer events in Western Greece, bringing together universities, research organisations, startups, spin-offs, innovative SMEs, public authorities, industry representatives, investors and members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The exhibition acts as a bridge between academic research and the market, supporting the transformation of scientific knowledge into applied technologies, products and services with real-world impact.
For AviSense, participation in Patras IQ 2026 was especially meaningful, as the company had the opportunity to present its journey as a research-driven spin-off emerging from the University of Patras ecosystem.
As part of the session “Spin-offs in Action: Innovation with Impact from the University of Patras”, Dr. Gerasimos Arvanitis, CEO and Co-founder of AviSense, presented the company’s vision, technology and market direction. The presentation focused on how AviSense combines Artificial Intelligence, Mixed Reality, geospatial intelligence and real-time perception to improve safety and decision-making in urban environments and smart cities.
Participating in Patras IQ 2026 also provided an important opportunity to engage with students, researchers, entrepreneurs, institutional representatives and ecosystem stakeholders. These interactions reinforced the role of university spin-offs in translating advanced research into practical solutions that can address real societal, operational and economic challenges.
We would like to thank the University of Patras, the Patras IQ organisers and the wider innovation ecosystem for creating a platform that highlights research excellence, technology transfer and entrepreneurship.
