Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer
Location: Greece
Working model: Full-time, remote
Seniority: Junior
Application email: arvanitis@avisense.ai
AviSense is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our AI and XR-based operational intelligence platform.
At AviSense, we build software that combines camera, satellite, geospatial and sensor data into a single live picture of what is happening on the ground. Field teams and operators use our platform to spot risks early, understand complex environments, and make faster, safer decisions — with AR/XR guidance to support them in the field.
You will join a small, hands-on team working on the AviSense platform end-to-end, from the web frontend to backend services, APIs, databases and deployment infrastructure.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of software features across the AviSense platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing and delivering end-to-end software features across the frontend, backend, APIs and database layers.
- Contributing to clean architecture, reusable components and maintainable codebases.
- Supporting the development of authentication, authorization, role-based access control and secure session handling.
- Working closely with the team to test, improve and deploy platform features.
- Learning and contributing across multiple parts of the stack, depending on project needs.
Required Skills
We are looking for candidates with:
- Solid foundation in basic web technologies such as RESTful APIs, HTTP, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
- Solid Python skills.
- Understanding of relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Familiarity with version control using Git.
- Current residence in Greece and eligibility to work in Greece.
Nice-to-Have Skills
The following are not mandatory, but will be considered a plus:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Familiarity with React, FastAPI, Docker or Nginx.
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments and deploying working applications.
- Familiarity with publish/subscribe messaging protocols such as MQTT or message queues such as RabbitMQ or similar tools.
Our Current Technology Stack
Our current technology stack includes:
Python, FastAPI, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Git, MQTT and LiveKit.
You do not need to already know all of these technologies. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation, willingness to learn, and motivation to work on real product development in a deep-tech environment.
Who Should Apply
This is a junior position, and no professional experience is required.
If you are early in your career, we encourage you to include personal, academic or university projects in your CV that demonstrate your technical skills, even if they are not directly related to web development.
We value curiosity, ownership, problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn by building.
What We Offer
- Base salary of €1,100 after tax, paid 14 times per year, according to the Greek standard.
- Fully remote working model, whether you are based in Patras or elsewhere in Greece.
- Occasional in-person meetings for brainstorming sessions, team bonding and project alignment.
- Opportunity to work on a real deep-tech platform combining software engineering, AI, computer vision, geospatial data and AR/XR technologies.
- A small and flexible team environment where your contribution can have direct impact.
